Fun and Games
It’s Friday and I am not in the mood for anything too serious, so let me tell you about some fun stuff that is going down around my hood at the moment and in the near future!
Frankly, the most exciting thing happening for me right now is that Martin Rocka and The Sickshop are playing tonight at the Bohemian, Richmond, Johannesburg! This absolutely sick and twisted rockabilly/psychobilly acts is without doubt one of my favourite SA bands and their shows are always loads of fun. Besides, them bad ass beats just make me wanna swing my tail! I think I shall dress up appropriately!
But then a little while later on in March, there is going to be a cool, chilled-out event happening at Mark’s Park that I am also really looking forward to. It’s called Large On The Lawn and it is happening on Sunday 25 March 2012 at Marks Park, Johannesburg and features an all star local line up with Arno Carstens & Albert Frost, Watershed, The Black Hotels, Rambling Bones, Laurie Levine and Cameron Bruce.
Music fans can expect a quality outdoor experience with a relaxed festival atmosphere wrapped up neatly in a day programme of music and other fun. Food, Beverage and merchandise stalls will be on site to make sure the audience want for nothing.
Large on the Lawn takes place on the lower fields at Marks Park Sports Club, Orange Road entrance, Emmarentia, Johannesburg. Gates open at 11h00. The music kicks off at 12h30 and ends around 19h00. Gates to the venue close at 20h00.
Earlybird Tickets are on sale at R195 per person (this price includes booking fees) from www.ticketbreak.co.za. Limited Parking Tickets for parking within the venue are also on sale at a cost of R40 per vehicle and there is also plenty of parking within a comfortable walking distance outside of the venue.
The organisers do request that ticket buyers consider sharing lifts or vehicles to save on fuel as well as carbon emissions. Designated drivers or Taxi Cab companies are also recommended for anyone who plans on drinking that day. Buy tickets online here: http://www.ticketbreak.co.za/event_details/1406
