My Thursday evening was a little surreal. I have been to the M Net broadcast centre for Studio 1 on plenty of occasions, but this was the 1st time I was there because I was to be on the show!

For a start, my fellow guests were the newly re-formed Boo! Those guys really are mad! As a result the studio audience was huge, full of fun and very loud and energetic. Having to hang around for 2 and a half hours waiting for the show to start tho is off set by how cool the crew and everyone there is. Oh and there are good snacks in the green room too!

Just in case you were wondering, yes Elma is that gorgeous in real life and a super slick pro as well. She doesn’t miss a thing. In fact, she may be hotter in real life! But aside from that, live TV is this weird animal where, as an outsider, you just have to trust that everyone there knows what they are doing and that if you follow directions, everything will be fine. It’s a bit opaque otherwise.

When the show was done, there was a scrum to get the free caps, books and CD’s we were given to hand out. I am proud to say that some of that scrum was because the kids REALLY wanted a free copy of my book “1,2,1,2: A Step By Step Guide To The Music Industry!” Seriously!

This whole week has been about media. I did an interview with Therese Owen for The star on Wednesday, which will appear in print on Wednesday 20 October, and one for The Citizen on Thursday, publication date to be confirmed. This media attention is very gratifying and will hopefully bring the book to the attention of more people who need it.

I also spent an hour or so in Alexandra township meeting with another young man who wants to do workshops with me in his community. This is the 3rd such kid to approach me, and these guys are seriously inspirational. Such ambition and drive, you gotta respect it. But more on that later.

This weekend is the first one in some time where I don’t have to work in some way. So it’s the Currie Cup semi finals on TV and SLEEP!

Until after that…

Adios!
