What I learned from Rock n Roll

  • Don’t be scared to dream
  • Be scared of only dreaming
  • Everyone is faking it. Most people cannot tell the difference
  • You CAN do whatever you want if you REALLY want to
  • With practice you can get better at anything. Even things you have never done before or thought you could never do
  • Most people don’t really love music, they love what it gives them:
    Bragging rights
  • If your music tastes don’t change, nor do you
  • All experience is legitimate
  • The trick is to learn to relate experience without the jargon that supposes exclusive rights to knowledge
  • Everything will eat itself eventually
  • antigravity koppi 2 (2)If you’re not in it, you can’t win it. Just as there is always someone who wins the lottery
  • You can be very, very good at something and come second to someone who has lesser skills, but is quicker to react
  • It’s not what you know. It’s not even who you know. It’s who knows you
  • Woody Allen was right. 80% of success is just showing up
  • Our fears are always worse than our experience of what we fear
  • I don’t believe in luck, but sometimes, when you have honed your craft and practised your skills very hard, you will just arrive in the right place at the right time with little other way of describing how, other than luck
  • Sooner or later, someone better, more committed, faster, stronger, meaner, nicer, more talented or better looking will come along and take your place
  • When you’re on the ride, drive it like you stole it

Funny thing is, it didn’t feel like it while acquiring it!
